About Our Service During COVID-19

Control and Prevention to Prevent Worker Exposure to COVID-19

Healthcare personnel (HCP) are exposed to patients with suspected or confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and other sources of  SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19).

Protection of workers exposed to other respiratory hazards is impacted from the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Such workplace respiratory hazards may be covered by one or more substance-specific health standards.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for

Infection Control

All personal protective equipment (PPE) that is intended for use as a medical device must follow The FDA’s regulations and should meet applicable voluntary consensus standards for protection.

This includes surgical masks, N95 respirators, medical gloves, and gowns.

The consensus standards and the FDA’s requirements vary depending on the specific type of PPE. When these standards and regulations are followed, they provide reasonable assurance that the device is safe and effective.

Use of Disposable Filtering Facepiece

Respirator or Mask

Individuals using respiratory protection should always carefully read and

follow the User Instructions for the model of respirator or mask they are using.

If individuals do not have a proper fit to the face, they will not get the expected protection from the respirator or mark.

Users with underlying heart or lung conditions should consult a physician prior to use. Remember that it is time to dispose of disposable respirators and obtain a new one when it becomes dirty, damaged or difficult to breathe through.
